1995: Ph.D. in Computer Engineering - University of Rome "La Sapienza".
1995-1996: Post-doc - Brown University, RI.

Current Appointments

2002-: Full Professor - Department of Engineering, University of Perugia.
2014-: Rector delegate (deputy chancellor) for ICT, Information Systems, and Digital Agenda - University of Perugia.

Research Interests

  • Discovery, analysis, and visualization of networks.
  • Graph drawing and its applications.
  • Algorithm engineering and system development.
  • Computational geometry and its applications.

On the above topics, Beppe wrote more than 170 papers, organized conferences, gave invited lectures world wide, wrote book chapters, and received grants from public and private sponsors. Scientific Service

Beppe has served in several scientific committees, including editorial boards, European granting commitees, conference program committees, and organizing committees. His current resposibilities include:

  • Editor in chief of the Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, JGAA.
  • PC Member of IEEE PVIS 2019.
