Travel information

The symposium will be held in Building 99 of Microsoft. The exact address of the building is 14820 NE 36th Street, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, US. If you travel to the symposium by plane, which seems to be the default option, then your final airport is Sea-Tac. For maps, and more travel information please go to Microsoft Research site. This page also recommends the local hotels. We recommend contacting the following hotels: Extended Stay America - Seattle - Redmond, Courtyard Marriot, and The Westin Bellevue. At the moment we don't have discounted prices, and we are not sure we will get those prices.

A walk from Extended Stay America - Seattle - Redmond to Building 99, the symposium location, takes about 15 minutes, and a walk from Courtyard to the building takes about 20 minutes. There are sidewalks available for these walks.

Westin is not at a walking distance from Building 99. It is 5.6 miles, 9.1 km, from the building. Driving by car from the hotel to the building takes 12 minutes. By using buses one can reach the building in about 40 minutes. We might organize a small bus from the hotel to Building 99, depending on the number of people registered in the hotel. It is a good idea to rent a car if you are staying in Westin.

There is a cheap public transportation from Redmond and Bellevue to Seattle. It is a bus. The ride takes about 30 minutes when the traffic is light.

To reach Redmond from Seattle-Tacoma International airport one usually hires a taxi. A cheaper option, if you are not sharing a taxi, is hiring Shuttle Express. The Shuttle Express stop is located nearby the taxi stop. At the airport there are signs leading you to these stops.

Public transportation in Redmond and Bellevue is not developed very well. The buses do not come very often and people usually drive.
